DESCRIPTION:The Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter\, in partnership with Senator Vincent Hughes and the Black Women’s Health Alliance\, is sponsoring a virtual Mental Health First Aid Training\, provided by the City of Philadelphia- Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual DisAbility Services\, that will provide a 3-year certification that teaches skills to respond to a mental health crisis until help arrives. MHFA is a groundbreaking early intervention and public education program that teaches community members about behavioral health and how to assist a person experiencing a behavioral health problem. MHFA teaches the skills needed to identify\, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of behavioral health challenges or crises.
