DESCRIPTION:Join the Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter in our virtual town hall discussion aimed at raising awareness about\nmissing and exploited Black children. Our goal is to empower families to create safe\, secure\, and nurturing environments\nfor their children. This discussion will be led by a panel of community experts\, including representatives from the police\,\nthe courts\, family and child specialists\, mental health providers\, and others. It will serve as a precursor to our\nRegional Day of Service\, which will also take place on Saturday\, March 16\, 2024. During this day\, we will actively engage with\nfamilies and children in five communities throughout the city. This concert event will take place on Thursday\, March 28\, 2024 at 7:30pm inside Benjamin Franklin Hall at the American Philosophical Society (427 Chestnut Street). The brothers\, Curtis Institute of Music graduates\, are the only siblings to win the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. Demarre and Anthony have a CD titled\, “Portraits.” \nDemarre is the principal flutist of the Seattle Symphony. He is an internationally recognized soloist\, recitalist\, and chamber and orchestral musician. At 15\, he was a soloist with the Chicago Symphony. He appeared on the Today Show\, NBC Nightly News\, The Gifted Ones and Live from Lincoln Center. \nAnthony is the principal clarinet and the first African American player of the NY Philharmonic. He took part in President Obama’s inauguration\, and launched a music protest following George Floyd’s death. He has been covered in the NY Times and the New Yorker.

The Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter will receive 25% of your takeout or dine-in food bill when you present a printed copy of our flyer at billing/checkout. For this fundraiser\, you must bring a printed copy of the flyer (a black and white copy is sufficient) as it will be attached to your bill for reconciliation later.
