DESCRIPTION:During National Stroke Awareness Month\, take advantage of this free opportunity to learn more about the silent killer in the Black community\, hypertension (high blood pressure) and what can be done to be more proactive in preventing and addressing it. Heart disease is a crisis in Philadelphia of which everyone needs to be aware\, and every household needs at least one person who knows how to respond in the event of a cardiac arrest. This program will focus on soft skills development\, college exploration\, and career exploration. Weekly workshops will include activities to develop awareness and broaden exposure across the content areas. The program will begin on April 25\, 2025 and end on May 16\, 2025 and is open to the public. It will take place at the Harambee Institute of Science and Technology Charter School in West Philadelphia.\nPlease scan the CLICK HERE to register for the Parent Orientation.
