This concert event will take place on Thursday\, March 28\, 2024 at 7:30pm inside Benjamin Franklin Hall at the American Philosophical Society (427 Chestnut Street). Read below for more details about these excellent musicians and be sure to secure your tickets by CLICKING HERE. #DSTredcarpet #ArtsAndLetters #PCMS \nAbout the Artists: \n-The McGill Brothers (Demarre and Anthony)\, born and raised in Chicago\, achieved success in the classical music world. The brothers\, Curtis Institute of Music graduates\, are the only siblings to win the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. Demarre and Anthony have a CD titled\, “Portraits.” \nDemarre is the principal flutist of the Seattle Symphony. He is an internationally recognized soloist\, recitalist\, and chamber and orchestral musician. At 15\, he was a soloist with the Chicago Symphony. He appeared on the Today Show\, NBC Nightly News\, The Gifted Ones and Live from Lincoln Center. \nAnthony is the principal clarinet and the first African American player of the NY Philharmonic. He took part in President Obama’s inauguration\, and launched a music protest following George Floyd’s death. He has been covered in the NY Times and the New Yorker.
