JKS Community Conference

TheJuanita Kidd Stout Community Conference is designed to raise awareness and strengthen the financial literacy of youth and their families in the Philadelphia region.

This year’s conference is entitled, “Come with a Vision, Leave with a Plan.” Financial wellness workshops, panel discussions and an entrepreneur showcase will highlight the event. Attendees will be presented with information on savings, investing, entrepreneurship and wealth management. The conference will also deliver informative strategies on starting one’s own business. Relevant information and tips provided during the conference will allow participants to apply what they have learned to everyday life. In addition, our keynote speaker will be legendary songwriter and entrepreneur Kenneth Gamble.

This conference was developed in honor of one of our most prestigious members, the late Juanita Kidd Stout. Judge Stout was the first African American woman in America to be elected judge, serving in the Municipal and Common Pleas Courts in Philadelphia and serving in the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court.  Through her work in and outside the courtroom, Judge Stout gave generously of herself. She influenced hundreds of young people and redirected their lives in constructive ways. Therefore, it is fitting that we honor her with this conference.
