Economic Development

CHAIRS | Alexis Wallace &  Sandra Turner-Becks

The Economic Development Committee implements programs to help the community achieve financial fortitude by setting and defining goals, developing plans to achieve them, and by putting the plans into action. The process serves as a blueprint to address all aspects of personal finances.

The ten components of Financial Fortitude include: Goal Setting, Financial Planning, Budgeting, Debt Management, Savings & Investments, Retirement Planning, Homeownership, Insurance, Estate Planning, and Entrepreneurship. The initiative helps members of the Sorority spread financial education throughout their local communities.

Youth: Collaborate with youth groups – Delta Academy, and Delta GEMS – Financial literacy is key for implementing, with knowledge and skills, the ability to manage money adequately. The proper skills will help our youth to become financially stable and successful

SCORE: An entrepreneurship for women to open a new business or aid with existing businesses, guided by a SCORE mentor and planning for future success. SCORE focuses on sharing business assistance and resources.

JKS: Juanita Kidd Stout Conference is designed to raise awareness and strengthen the financial literacy of youth and their families in the Philadelphia region. The Conference offers financial wellness workshops, entrepreneurship, and information on savings, investing, and wealth management.

dfree® Financial Freedom: A faith-based, wealth-building system specifically designed with the black community in mind, dfree® delivers access to financial freedom.
