CHAIRS | Deneene Brockington & Djuan Short

The Scholarship Committee advances Delta’s commitment to educational excellence by encouraging Sorors to support collegeaged students throughout their highereducation journey. Each year, our chapter proudly contributes to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) through our Annual UNCF Drive, held from October through January. These contributions help mitigate rising college costs and expand opportunities for students pursuing their degrees.

The committee also partners with the Legacy of Love Foundation, which awards first-year scholarships to selected students. The Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter then provides renewal stipends in years two, three, and four, ensuring continued financial support throughout each scholar’s undergraduate experience. In addition, every recipient is paired with a dedicated mentor who offers guidance, encouragement, and support tailored to the student’s needs—whether that means regular checkins or occasional advice.

Through financial assistance, mentorship, and collaborative partnerships, the Scholarship Committee helps ensure that our scholars are empowered to thrive academically and personally.
